Our Courses

30 miles never looked so good

Our courses are flat, formidable, and full of fun!

We offer official pit stops with snacks, hydration, and friendly fans every 2.5 miles or so, plus there are usually a handful of unofficial pit stops that the communities set up. Need to pee? We’ve got more toilets per capita than any other race in the history of races!

We suggest that you train on a variety of surfaces to help you prepare for the diversity of our three routes that feature hard-packed beaches, golf cart paths, nature trails, boardwalks, pathways, and an occasional gravel road.

  • Please remember that all our routes are 10 miles and we expect that everyone will train accordingly.
  • If for some reason you are not able to reach a pre-set marker on a course, we will automatically reroute you to the nearest shortcut.
  • All participants have four hours to get to the finish line.

Friday, October 21 at Hunting Island (8am start)

Friday is the best of both worlds: roughly 4 miles on nature trails and 6 miles on hard-packed sands. Carpool your golf carts to the Store on Fripp Island and we’ll get started by walking/running over the bridge to Hunting Island where we will take the waterfront trail system for the first 2 miles of our adventure. We’ll then enter the beach, which features hard-packed sands and friendly dolphins, and head north to the very tip of the island where we’ll then turn around and head to the finish line back at the Store. Then grab your golf cart and ride down to the Beach Club for our infamous after-party and Survivor Celebration!

Saturday, October 22 (8:30am start)

Sign up for our Saturday shuttle buses or carpool over to Habersham and see what lowcountry living is all about – did you know that Habersham is one of only two Southern Living designated communities in the country? Yall will enjoy streets dripping in Oaks and Spanish Moss, the beautiful waterfront of the Broad River, marshes, endless parks, and the most stunning new houses in the lowcountry. The course is 99% road/pathway and a few hundred feet of gravel and boardwalks. It is10 miles of gawking that will take your breath away. Our after party is in their charming “downtown” and we’ll be playing games and dancing in the streets for hours.

Sunday, October 23 on Fripp (7:30am start)

Carpool to the Ocean Point driving range and get ready to soak up the sunrise over the sea! The first half-mile of our Sunday course is absolutely stunning as we make our approach to the ocean (we’ll have photographers stationed to capture you and your 1500 new friends in this beautiful location). You’ll enjoy a few miles of wildlife along the golf course and then you’ll make a turn and be staring right across the water to Hunting Island. The remaining miles will be on flat pathways and quiet streets, with an occasional bridge and boardwalk thrown in for fun. We’re also treating you to a short stroll on the beach itself before heading back to the driving range for the finish line. All total, today’s course is 3.5 miles on the golf course, 6 miles on road/pathways, and about ½ mile on the beach itself. The after party, 50-50 raffle announcement, and Fancy’s farewell will be at the Beach Club so ride your golf carts back there once your party has finished their miles for the day.
