We could not do what we do year after year without the help of our FlockStar volunteers. This year, it will take more than 300 volunteers to help us give you the best weekend of your life.

So spread the word! Encourage your friends, siblings, spouses, kids or co-workers to join in the fun as a Pledge the Pink volunteer!

Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I am walking this year. Can I also volunteer?

A: Yes, we would love to have you volunteer when you are not walking! We need volunteers at the Packet Pick Up Party on Thursday and other times throughout the weekend.

Q: What types of positions are you looking to fill?

A: We have a variety of volunteer positions. Here’s a sampling of the things we need help with:

  • Put together race packets and fundraising prize bags (the weekend before the event)
  • Hand out packets during packet pickup
  • Assist with merchandise sales
  • Help with bag drop
  • Distribute medals at the finish line
  • Hand out food and beverages at pit stops
  • Give directions along the race course (we need a lot of these peeps)
  • Bike Patrol (BYOBike only)
  • And more!…

Q: Can I volunteer for just one shift and/or multiple days?

A: Yes, how much or how little you volunteer is totally up to you! We would love to have you volunteer for just one shift or as many as you are able throughout the weekend.

Q: I can’t stand for long periods of time and/or I can’t be in the sun for long periods of time. Are there jobs I can do?

A: Absolutely! Please email Rebecca at ptpvols@gmail.com and she can give you some suggestions.

Q: What do I get for volunteering?

A. This year, all of our Flockstar volunteers will receive an official volunteer hat so you are easily recognizable. If your shift ends after 11:30am on Friday, 12pm on Saturday or 10:30am on Sunday, you will also receive a lunch ticket.

Q. Can I participate in all of the weekend festivities as a volunteer?

A. You sure can!

Q. Do you need any help before the event?

A. Yes! We will need volunteers to help with Packet Stuffing. Laura sometimes needs help in Bluffton in the months leading up to the event. Look for these opportunities on our Pledge the Pink Chat Club Facebook Group.

Q. Are travel or accommodations covered?

A. No. Volunteers are responsible for booking their own travel and accommodations.

Q. I have lots of experience volunteering at events. Do you need leads/supervisors?

A. Heck yeah! We do need volunteers in lead and supervisor roles. Please email Rebecca at ptpvols@gmail.com, and she can talk about what would work best for you.

Q. I have worked on crew at other events. Do you have a crew, and if so, do you need more crew members?

A. We have an awesome crew that we’ve been very lucky to work with for the last several years. At this time we don’t need crew members but if that changes, we will make an announcement on the Pledge the Pink Chat Club Facebook Group!
