Let the Games Begin

We hope everyone will get loco with our Car Decorating contest and let the world know you’re headed to Hilton Head to Pledge the Pink! Gussy up your cars with flamingos, pink signs, and warrior messages. Flying here? How about a shot of you or your team proudly representing Pledge the Pink on the plane? Or ask the flight attendant if you can make an announcement and tell your fellow passengers why you are dressed like Pepto Bismol and acting so loco (check out Kay’s video from last year). Post your photos and videos on our main Facebook page and add #OnOurWaytoPledgeThePink and we will announce the Most Spirited winners at Saturday’s after-party and awards ceremony. We have fabulous Spartina-inspired prize packages for both the “car contest” and the “fly contest” winners so we’re expecting greatness from yall!

Unlock your inner flamingo fashionista and let’s see who can create the best theme-appropriate hat. Wear your outrageous bonnets to our Packet Pickup Party and upload a photo of you and your headgear on our Facebook page. The hat with the most likes recorded by 11am Saturday wins a $125 prize package!

Upload your photos to our chat club page and hashtag #PTPderby so we can determine the winner.

Twenty five buses filled with excited FlockStars has gotta be able to produce some classic PTP jingles!  Dust off your pom poms, brush up on your rhymes, and get ready to win your first Clio Award… Bus Captains must upload your submission video to our Facebook group by 2pm Friday. We will announce the winners on Sunday morning at the start line.

Who do you wish was with you today (and want to make sure joins us next year)? Let’s make sure they see what they’re missing and include their face in all our pictures today! Yup, we want yall to print big images of your friend’s faces and glue them to a stick. And bring these “flat friends” with you to Fripp so we can flood social media with your missing pal’s face… and she can kind of be a part of our fabulous frippin’ adventure. We have tons of “flat friend” photo stops along the course so she can see just how flippin gorgeous Fripp is (and how much fun you’re having!) every step of the way! And yeah, we’ve got some terrific prizes lined up for this so bring as many “flat friends” as you can carry and let’s have a blast!

Use the hashtag #flatfriend when you share them in our group page so we can easily find them and choose winners!

Our giant Flocks of Love with 4000 plastic pink flamingos will be on display at the start/finish line in Bluffton. For every $50 you donated and/or fundraised, you will get one bird in the flock… and we encourage yall to decorate them! Use doll-sized clothing, accessories, and accouterments! Make your own aviary ensemble with beads, boas, sequins, feathers, shoes, and other clever stuff you come up with! Bring tape, string, glue guns, flat iron, sewing machine… (you wouldn’t believe the stuff peeps bring!) we’ll have power if you need it. For ideas on decorating check out our PTP flamingo board here (and please add ideas to it)! Our distinguished judges will cast their votes Saturday afternoon and we will announce the Best Dressed Flamingo Fashionista at the Sunday start line.

Our friends in Bluffton wanted in on the decorating action so we’ve added a few contests for them— and they are so excited to show yall a great time! As if Bluffton wasn’t weird and quirky enough, now it’ll be even more special with the golf cart decorating contest, yard decorating contest, and best costume/best spirit contest. They’ll be fighting for bragging rights and some cool prizes, and yall get to be the judges! It’s gonna be a hoot and a half!

At our Coligny Beach pit stop area (approximately mile 5 on Sunday) we will have an area of sand marked off for yall to write messages to your friends, teammates, family back home, and lost loved ones. Tell the world how you are feeling, invite friends to join you next year, leave an encouraging note for the group behind you, pay tribute to lost warriors. No rules. No judging. No contest. Just a very personal moment for you to stop and soak it all up.Take all the pictures you want. We get it.
