Our 2026 Courses
OKI Has it all!
October 15-18, 2026
Our courses are 99% flat but they are anything but boring! We suggest that you train on a variety of surfaces to help you prepare for the diversity of our routes (mostly roads and hard-packed sand).
Our courses are packed with essentials like water and Gatorade, and we’ve also got a lot of snacks out there for ya: trail mix, popcorn, orange slices, grapes, apples, bananas, ice pops, and energy balls. Our stations are set up approximately every 2.5ish miles.
We ask everyone to train to complete all 10 miles each day in less than 4 hours.
If you don’t think you can complete the 10 miles within that time frame, we respectfully ask you to do the 5-mile short cut. You’ll still be able to cross the finish line, claim your medal, and celebrate with your friends.
Friday's Course
Our first course is flat, fast, and fantastically gorgeous. Starting at the Elk’s Lodge with the survivors at the beginning of the line (our tradition), we’ll run/walk all the way down to OKI’s “point” and the very south end of the island. Stop by the beach for a quick drink and selfie, and then cross the finish line back at the Elks where the first party kicks off. After you’ve collected your posse, ride your golf cart back to Middleton Park for our official After Party and shenanigans galore! A cheeseburger never tasted so good.
Saturday's Course
Our Saturday course travels the northern portion of Oak Island along the intercoastal waterway and over boardwalks that cross salt water creeks. Our beautiful survivors will lead the way as we head to Veterans Park for our first pitstop (whilst passing a few “funstops” along the way). Our journey continues to another waterfront park on the far western part of the intracoastal where we will take a break for a few games and some snacks. As we head back to the finish line at the park, we’ll take the scenic walkway over the salt river and then grab your medal and pop open your BYOB cooler at the party. Fancy some yoga? It’ll be going down around 11:30am!
