NEWBIES!
First of all, welcome to our Flock. We seriously could not be more excited to have you join us – we really do have more fun than anyone!
The first thing you’ll do when you arrive at the party on Thursday is stop at the Newbie Zone under the big white tent. Get your pictures taken, make your hometown arrow to show us where you’re from, meet Fancy, and celebrate your newbieness with some of our favorite FlockStar vets! They’ll answer all your questions and calm you down (and fire you up) before sending you on your way to pick up your official packet (follow steps 1-5 below).
Note that we’re holding an official Newbie Reception from 5:45 – 6:15pm (under the tent) and we’d love for all our newbies to attend for a complementary champagne toast… and a few pre-game shenanigans!
Your Pledge the Pink swag bag (packet) will include:
- 4 bibs (including a bib for Thursday night to help you/us navigate through packet pickup)
- Gifts and swag from us (and our fabulous sponsors)
If you raised at least $300, we’ll have your prize(s) waiting for you at the PURPLE TENT! Note that we will only give prizes to YOU (not your friends picking up your swag and packet). Remember that your prizes are reflective of your fundraising total at NOON eastern on September 7.

As you may have heard, we are going after the Guinness World Record for largest display of plastic garden flamingos. Their requirements are pretty intense so we have to set the display up on Monday, Sept 12 starting at 10am at Middleton Park. If you’re in town, come by and be part of it! Huge thanks to Towne Vacations and Oak Island Accommodations https://www.rentalsatthebeach.com/special/pledge-pink-oki-sale for sponsoring this huge undertaking. We heart yall!
By the way, if you raised at least $100 this year, we’ll place a flamingo in our Flocks of Love display to recognize your support. Please feel free to decorate a “naked bird” to recognize those you are honoring. You can take your birdie home with you on Sunday or leave it with the flock to use again next year.
In addition to our own Pledge the Pink merchandise, some of our sponsors and fellow FlockStars will be selling their goods during the party on Thursday, so make sure you stop by and say hey to everyone (click here if you’d like to have a booth to sell products as a PTP fundraiser). https://pledgethepink.com/sponsor-us/
Our very own DJ Alan will be back to blast your favorite tunes and keep us in stitches with hilarious games and antics.
Let’s kickoff the weekend antics under the big tent as we sing and dance our tails off from 7-9pm on Thursday evening. BYOB and wear your fave pajamas!

4 Steps to Packet Pickup
Step 1
If you are in a team of four or more, please designate one person to pick up your team’s packets at the big white tent. You’ll see a TEAM line, and that’s where you’ll want to stand. Give our vols your team name, and they’ll give you all the packets for your team.
If you are a singleton or on a team with three or less members, you’ll stand in the INDIVIDUALS line, give them your name, and they’ll pull your bag and the bag of anyone else on your team you need to pick up.
Your official event gear will be in your bag. If you want to change the size, please come see us on Sunday at the orange tent, either before or after the race, and we’ll do our best to accommodate!
If you think there are errors on your bib or you have questions about anything, please visit Mel at the “Uh Oh” orange tent in the park. They’ll get you all squared away.
Step 2
Next up, check your Thursday bib for a PRIZE receipt. If you have one, THANK YOU, because this means you’ve raised at least $300, and you can stop by the PURPLE TENT to pick up your prizes! Please note that only YOU can pick up YOUR prizes. We will not give prize bags to friends or teammates. You can pick them up after the race on Friday if you miss us on Thursday.
If you see an error on your bibs, please see Mel at the orange tent to get everything sorted out.
Step 3
Next on the agenda is BINGO! If you bought a Bingo ticket (check your Thursday bib for a tear strip), stop by the PURPLE TENT to grab your Bingo Bracelet. Do not lose this bracelet – it is your only admission ticket for Friday night! If tickets are still available, you can also purchase a bracelet for Friday night’s Pirate Bingo extravaganza at the tent! Here’s the link https://pledgethepink.com/2026-bingo/ if you haven’t already gotten your ticket (check the rosters to jog your memory!). If seats are still available, you can purchase on Friday at the big tent between 6-7PM.
Step 4
If you are a survivor, your last stop is to walk to the TEAL TENT to pick up your official Survivor Swag Bag.
