Weekend At A Glance
At Pledge the Pink, we celebrate life.
And we have a blast while doing it!
This weekend, the focus is on the love we share, our hope for the future, and our faith that if we continue to put one foot in front of the other we will reach the finish line- together!
Here is a summary of what to look for during our time together. Let’s get the party started!
Weekend Overview
- Auctions – We will offer both a silent auction and a live auction this year.
- Please drop off any items you have for the auctions at the purple tent between 2-7pm on Thursday. Or from 9am-1pm on Friday and Saturday. If you have an item to donate to the auctions, please fill out the required info no later than Tuesday Oct 13 so we can determine what items will be in the two auctions: https://pledgethepinkfoundation.org/silent-live-auction/
- The silent auction items will be on display with bid sheets throughout the packet pickup party on Thursday. Then again Friday and Saturday at the big tent in Middleton Park. The silent auction closes at 6:45pm on Sat evening. Winners will be announced at that time and payment will be collected (cash and credit cards accepted).
- The live auction will start at 7pm until under the big tent at Middleton on Saturday. It is always a freaking hoot so don’t miss it (we’re also mixing it up a little bit this year by adding some fun 80s trivia games to the mix)! Approximately 12-15 “big ticket” items will be up for grabs to the highest bidder; payment must be made before you take possession of the item that evening.
After Parties – We will gather to celebrate after each day’s race. These after-parties are very casual (smelly race attire) and you can choose any meal off any of the food trucks on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There’s a lunch ticket on your daily bib that you can exchange for the yummy food. Family, friends, fans, and supporters are all welcome to join the festivities and grab lunch for $15 per person (cash only) at any or all our after parties. Go to the orange tent to purchase meal tickets. Food trucks will not be accepting payments.
Bag Drop – We will have bag drops available daily. Stuff a bag with your keys, a clean shirt, some flops, and maybe a beach towel. Leave it with us at the start line each day and you can pick it up when you cross the finish line! Your bib will have a special bag drop tear-off so the bags are easy to identify.
Bingo – Only ticket holders wearing official wristbands will be allowed to participate in bingo and sit under the big tent. Order your bingo seats and boards now at: https://pledgethepink.com/2026-bingo/
If you register for bingo, there will be a tab on your bib that says BINGO and you’ll exchange that for a wristband during the packet pickup party at the purple tent.
Please note that all bingo players must be 18 years of age and the show will contain adult content and language.
We will play a total of4 rounds of bingo with the first game paying out $250, then games 2 and 3 will pay out $500, and then our final game winner will walk out with a cool ONE THOUSAND BUCKS!
Course Rules – We start on time so do not be late. Plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before start so you can hear that day’s announcements and updates. Survivors line up in the front, followed by the runners, and then walkers. Survivors always start at our races! The clock will start approximately two minutes later for the masses, so there is controlled chaos as the runners overtake the survivors. Please be safe and courteous as you pass.
- Friday start is 8:00am at the Elks Lodge (106 E. Dolphin Drive, Oak Island, NC 28465)
- Saturday start is 8:00am from Middleton Park
- Sunday start is 7:30am from Middleton Park
Our courses will remain open and manned for four hours. After that, we are required to break everything down and be off the roads, pathways, and beaches. If you don’t think you can complete the 10 miles within 4 hours, please utilize the shortcuts.
We do not have manpower or required insurance to drive you to a further point along the course, nor do we have the resources to keep volunteers and supplies on the course because you arrive 10 minutes late. Thank you for understanding.
NOTE: you must have an emergency contact with phone number on the back of your bibs. Please add that in your dashboard before Sept 7.
Cinch Bags / Fanny Packs – we have most everything you need along the courses but most people do stuff their pockets or stash some goodies in the swag bag backpacks we pass out on Thursday night. We encourage everyone to carry the following items, depending on how long you anticipate being on the course: sunscreen, bug spray, bandaids, gel pads, glide, cash/credit card, drivers license, phone/camera.
Daily Challenges – We want to see your pictures along the course so every day we ask you to take photos of certain things. See the daily overview pages below for each day’s instructions, and get ready to smile! Upload all the challenge photos to YOUR social media and tag Pledge the Pink. We will choose a winner every day.
First Aid – Bandaids, bug spray, sunscreen… we’ve got it.. But you might want to lather up and throw a bandaid in your pocket just in case! Listen to your body. If you feel dizzy, weak, nauseous, overheated, or exhausted – tell the people around you and then sit your butt down in the shade. Notify the closest volunteer so we can have EMS come check you out – they will be on site every day. Call 911 for life threatening emergencies.
Guinness World Record – We have a wee obsession with flamingos. Not only because they are fun, but because in our world, they represent a life-saving donation. Our flock of flamingos will be set up in front at Middleton Park on Monday, Oct 12 starting at 10am as we go for the Guinness World Record (shout out to Towne Vacations and Oak Island Accommodations for sponsoring this calamity)! Here’s a link to the history behind our flamingo obsession. https://pledgethepink.com/blog/the-story-behind-our-bird/ And here’s a link to explain how Flocks of Love works. https://pledgethepink.com/blog/what-is-fol/
Flocks of Love Fundraising Prizes – If you would like to receive the fundraising prize packages, please make sure you check the YES box in your dashboard. If you would rather NOT get the incentive prizes, please make sure you check the NO button. If you checked yes and you qualify for prizes (starting at $300 raised), your prize bags will be waiting for you at the PURPLE TENT at Packet Pickup.
Please note we will only give them to you – not friends or team members – only you. There will be a stapled slip on your Thursday bib bibs that specifies which prize level you earned; present that at the purple tent and they’ll give you your loot! If we don’t see you Thursday, you can pick up your prizes after the race on Friday or Saturday.
Fundraising totals will be calculated at noon eastern time on Monday, Sept 7 at noon eastern and prize bags will be made based on those totals. If you bring us additional donations at the event, and/or “Facebook proof of contributions”, we will add those to your totals but all the prizes will be ordered based on the Sept 7 date.
Golf cart parade – What a hoot this is and man, our FlockStars take this seriously. They are all vying for the 5’ trophy and our newbies will be shocked to see the amazing “floats” they create.
If you’d like to participate, go here to officially sign up https://pledgethepink.com/golf-cart-parade-2026/ The parade queues up 3:00pm on Saturday at Middleton Park and the winner is announced back at the park at 4:45pm. Don’t want to decorate but you want to see what this insanity is all about? Line the parade route along the route and get ready to catch some beads!

House decorating contest – If you are staying on Oak Island proper, we would love for yall to decorate your house and yard with a touch of pink. Or go completely nuts and compete with the Griswalds! Remember our theme this year is Mardi Bra if you’d like to incorporate that or stick to the pink, or whatever you want to do. Our judges will review the entries on Saturday between 6:30-8PM and the winner will be announced during our Auction & 80s Trivia party at 8:15PM. If you want to participate in the contest, go here to tell us your address.
Merchandise – We are bringing all our store items so head over to our merchandise tent as soon as you arrive. Inventory is already very low on several items and we do not print any additional shirts, etc., so if you are reading this before September 1, we strongly encourage you to buy online while we still have some sizes/styles available: https://store.pledgethepink.com/
Merchandise will be open at Middleton Park the following hours during event weekend:
Thursday 2-7pm
Fri, Sat & Sun 9am – 1pm
Packet Pickup Party – The best reunion and welcome party on the planet! Come to Middleton Park on Thursday between 2 – 7pm to get all your event credentials and swag, and hook up with your 1500 BFFs.
Enjoy the Newbie Zone (official reception with toast is from 5:45-6:15), merchandise tent, music, and lots of ridiculous games you don’t want to miss. Oh, and let’s not forget all those fundraising prizes you’ve worked so hard for!
Parking & Transportation – There is plenty of golf cart parking at/around Middleton Park, so no worries there. We are limited on Friday morning when we start/finish from the Elks Lodge (106 E. Dolphin Drive, Oak Island, NC 28465) but the Town is allowing 90 DEGREE golf cart parking on the blocks around the Lodge itself so just arrive early so you have time to get situated and at the start line by 7:45am.
Photographers – Our posse of professional photographers will be capturing our festivities all weekend long. We are talking thousands of top notch, high resolution Kodak moments! These photos will be available online within a few weeks after the event. We’ll send everyone an email with a link and you can relive the magic forever.
Race Bibs – It should go without saying, but in order to participate in the three walk/runs you must be a paid registrant and wear your designated race bib. All our bibs are customized with your name and personalized race details. Each race day has a designated bib and you must be wearing the appropriate bib in order to participate on that day. If you can’t make it to Thursday’s Packet Pickup Party, a friend can get it for you OR you can pick-up your packet and race bibs before each race at the start line.
NOTE: you must have an emergency contact with phone number on the back of your bibs. Please add that in your dashboard before Sept 7.
Reverse Raffle – We will be doing our first-ever Reverse Raffle all weekend long and the big winner will walk away with up to $10,000 when we draw the lucky person’s name on Sunday at noon. You can buy tickets at Berkshire Hathaway, Pete’s Golf Carts, PuffinPelican and OKI Exchange in Oak Island.
We have designated short cuts for those of you not able to do the 10 miles each day. Please note: we do NOT have the manpower to pick you up whenever and wherever you feel like quitting (unless you require medical attention, of course). If you don’t think you can complete the course within 4 hours, please use the short cuts. And be aware that our volunteers have the authority to redirect you to shorter cuts along the way if you haven’t gotten to certain locations by certain times.
- Friday’s Shortcut https://www.plotaroute.com/route/3144451
- Saturday’s Shortcut https://www.plotaroute.com/route/3144456?units=miles
- Sunday’s Shortcut https://www.plotaroute.com/route/3144461?units=miles
Theme – This year’s theme is Mardi Bras and Sweet Sixteen, so get creative with your hats & costumes or just wear whatever you’ve been training in. It is totally up to you.
Tides – We’re only on the beach on Sunday and, because God loves boobs, it is LOW TIDE when we start and the recently renourished beach is wide so you’ll have plenty of packed sand to walk/run on.
Water, Pit Stops & Toilets – We have plenty of pit stop stations along the route each day with water, sports drinks, snacks, and toilets. Feel free to bring your own water bottle and refill at these stations. Review the course maps/link https://pledgethepink.com/ptp-26-courses/ so you are familiar with the distances in between stations: roughly every 2.5 to 3 miles.
Weather – If it is pouring rain, we walk. If it is snowing, we walk. If it is hot, we walk. If it is cold, we walk. If the sky is full of cicadas, we walk. We might have to delay a moment if there’s lightning in the area but bottom line y’all, the show goes on!
Survivors & Thrivers – Please visit the teal tent at Packet Pickup to receive a special Survivor Swag Bag. Your Thursday bib will have a “Survivor” tear strip to present to the teal tent.
Survivor / Thriver Luncheon: A huge thank you to the National Breast Cancer Foundation and Salt 64 for sponsoring our Survivor & Thriver Luncheon on Thursday at 11:30am. Survivors / Thrivers are invited to join us at the St James Community Center (4136 Southport-Supply Road SE ST). Please note that the room is only large enough to have 225 people so this invite is only open to Survivors & Thrivers that are 2026 registrants. To sign up, go here: https://pledgethepink.com/26-survivors/
