Weekend At A Glance

At Pledge the Pink, we celebrate life.

And we have a blast while doing it!

This weekend, the focus is on the love we share, our hope for the future, and our faith that if we continue to put one foot in front of the other we will reach the finish line- together!

Here is a summary of what to look for during our time together. Let’s get the party started!

  1. We will offer both a silent auction and a live auction this year.
  • Please drop off any items you have for the auctions at the purple tent between 10am – 2PM. We cannot accept items after then. Remember to fill out the required auction info here so we can be determine what items will be in each of our auctions:  https://pledgethepinkfoundation.org/2025-auction-item-submission/
  • The silent auction items will be on display with bid sheets throughout the packet pickup party on Thursday. Then again Friday while we’re at Dataw, and again on Saturday at Habersham. The silent auction closes at 6:45pm under the big tent at Fripp. Winners will be announced at that time and payment will be collected. Go here to enter an item into the auctions.
  • The live auction will run from 6:45 until 7:30pm under the big tent at Fripp on Saturday. It is always a freaking hoot so don’t miss it! Approximately 10-12 “big ticket” items will be up for grabs to the highest bidder and payment must be made before you take possession of the item.
We will gather to celebrate after each day’s race. These after-parties are very casual (smelly race attire) and you can choose any meal off any of the food trucks on Friday and Saturday. Sunday you’ll have a choice of options There’s a lunch ticket on your daily bib that you can exchange for the yummy food. Family, friends, fans, and supporters are all welcome to join the festivities and grab lunch for $15 per person (cash only) at any or all our after parties. Go to the orange tent to make that transaction.
We will have bag drops available daily. Stuff a bag with your keys, a clean shirt, some flops, and maybe a beach towel. Leave it with us at the start line each day and you can pick it up when you cross the finish line! Your bib will have a special bag drop tear-off so the bags are easy to identify.

Only ticket holders wearing official wristbands will be allowed to participate in bingo and sit under the big tent. If you do not have a bracelet, you can still come join the fun but you’ll have to watch from afar (pool area). Bracelets can be picked up on Thursday during packet pickup party under the purple tent.

Please note that all bingo players must be 18 years of age and the show will contain adult content and language.

If you haven’t purchased Bingo tickets, please go here.

We will play a total of 5 rounds with the first game paying out $250, then games 2-4 paying out $500 each, and then our fifth game will pay out a cool 1 GRAND!

We start on time so do not be late. Plan on arriving at least 15 minutes before start so you can hear that day’s announcements and updates. Survivors line up in the front, followed by the runners, and then walkers. Survivors always start at our races! The clock will start approximately two minutes later for the masses, so there is controlled chaos as the runners overtake the survivors. Please be safe and courteous as you pass.

  • Friday start is 8:30am in front of the clubhouse on Dataw
  • Saturday start is 8:30am in Habersham (we will direct you)
  • Sunday start is 7:30am on the beach at Fripp Island

Our courses will remain open and manned for four hours. After that, we are required to break everything down and be off the roads, pathways, and beaches. If you don’t think you can complete the 10 miles within 4 hours, please utilize the shortcuts.

We do not have manpower or required insurance to drive you to a further point along the course, nor do we have the resources to keep volunteers and supplies on the course because you arrive 10 minutes late. Thank you for understanding.

We have almost everything you need along the courses but most people do stuff their pockets or stash some goodies in the swag bag backpacks we pass out on Thursday night. We encourage everyone to carry the following items, depending on how long you anticipate being on the course: sunscreen, bug spray, bandaids, gel pads, glide, cash, drivers license, phone/camera.

We want to see your pictures along the course so every day we ask you to take photos of certain things. See the daily overview pages below for each day’s instructions, and get ready to smile! Upload all the challenge photos to YOUR social media and tag Pledge the Pink @pledgethepink. We will choose a winner every day.

Our favorite pub, Johnsons Creek Tavern (2141 Sea Island Parkway), is just down the road from Fripp and they literally have tens of thousands of dollar bills stapled to their walls and ceilings. And this year, they are allowing Pledge the Pink to come take down as many as we can on Sunday from 2-5pm. We’ll have the staple removers, we just need fun peeps to stand on tables and pull these babies down! Go here to sign up.

Bandaids, bug spray, sunscreen… we’ve got it.. But you might want to lather up and throw a bandaid in your pocket just in case! Listen to your body. If you feel dizzy, weak, nauseous, overheated, or exhausted – tell the people around you and then sit your butt down in the shade. Notify the closest volunteer so we can have EMS come check you out – they will be on site every day. Call 911 for life threatening emergencies.

We have a wee obsession with flamingos. Not only because they are fun, but because in our world, they represent a life-saving donation. Our flock of flamingos will be set up in front of the Fripp Island Beach Club this year. Here’s a link to the history behind our flamingo obsession. And here’s a link to explain how Flocks of Love works

If you would like to receive the fundraising prize packages, please make sure you check the YES box on your personal fundraising page. If you would rather NOT get the incentive prizes, please make sure you check the NO button. If you checked yes and you qualify for prizes (starting at $300 raised), your prize bags will be waiting for you at the PURPLE TENT at Packet Pickup.

Please note we will only give them to you – not friends or team members – only you. There will be a tear-off on your Thursday bib bibs that specifies which prize level you earned; present that at the purple tent and they’ll give you your loot!  If we don’t see you Thursday, you can pick up your prizes after the race on Friday or Saturday.

Fundraising totals will be calculated at noon Eastern time on Saturday, Sept 15, and prize bags will be made based on those totals. If you bring us additional donations at the event, and/or “Facebook proof of contributions”, we will add those to your totals but all the prizes will be ordered based on the Sept 15 date.

We are so excited to offer these tribute signs again this year and we anticipate them being a tradition moving forward. For more info or to purchase a sign, please go here. These poignant signs will be placed on the course in Habersham on Saturday. And, just as a reminder, if you purchase a sign or if someone buys one for you, you may take it home with you on Sunday before 12:00PM (they will be at the stage). Talk about a great keepsake!

What a hoot this is and man, our FlockStars take this seriously. They are all vying for the 5’ trophy and our newbies will be shocked to see the amazing “floats” they create.

If you’d like to participate, go here to officially sign up. The parade starts at 4pm and the winner is announced at the Ocean Creek Golf Course at 5pm. Don’t want to decorate but you want to see what this insanity is all about? Line the parade route along Tarpon & Bonito & Ocean Creek Blvd and soak it all in!

If you are staying on Fripp Island, we would love for yall to decorate your house and yard with a touch of pink. Or go completely nuts and compete with the Griswalds! Remember our theme this year is Walking in a Winter Wonderland if you’d like to incorporate that or stick to the pink, or whatever you want to do. Our judges will review the entries on Saturday between 6:30-8PM and the winner will be announced during our Karaoke & Dance party at 8:15PM. If you want to participate in the contest, go here to tell us your address.

We are bringing all our store items so head over to our merchandise tent as soon as you arrive. Inventory is already very low on several items and we do not print any additional shirts, etc., so if you are reading this before September 15, we strongly encourage you to buy online while we still have some sizes/styles available: shop here

OMG yall! Our 2nd annual Shark Obstacle Course will take place on the beach at Fripp from 11:30 – noon on Sunday. The six teams of two (12 people total) will compete to see who can make it through the 10 obstacles fastest. Prizes will be given; you’ll want to wear your Depends because this is absolutely hysterical.

If you want to participate, the five spots will be auctioned to the highest bidder from 6:45 – 7:30pm on Saturday evening.

The best reunion and welcome party on the planet! Come to the Beach Club on Fripp (300 Tarpon Blvd) between 2:30 – 7:30pm to get all your event credentials and swag, and hook up with your 1500 BFFs.

Enjoy the Newbie Zone (official reception with toast is from 5:45-6:15), merchandise tent, music, and lots of ridiculous games you don’t want to miss. Oh, and let’s not forget all those fundraising prizes you’ve worked so hard for!

NOTE: you must have an emergency contact with phone number on the back of your bibs. Please add that in your dashboard before Sept 15.

There is plenty of golf cart parking at Fripp within a block of the Beach Club, so no worries there over the course of the weekend. You’ve got some options for Friday and Saturday though:

Friday at Dataw

  • If you were one of the lucky auction winners to snag a parking spot at the Dataw clubhouse, you will be golden. Please pack your car with as many people as you can. Your bib will have a special tear-off that you’ll give the guard and he will let you onto the island. No ticket, no entry.
  • If you reserved a seat on one of our buses, we will pick you up at the Fripp Beach Club (300 Tarpon) at 6:45am and drop you off at the start line. Return buses will run from 11am-1pm. You’ll have a special tear-off on your bib that says FRI BUS and that will get you on our Fripp-Dataw and return buses. If bus tickets are still available, you can grab one here
  • Your final option is to cram your car with some new besties and drive to our shuttle lot at 847 Sea Island Parkway across from the Foolish Frog at 7:45am. Our buses will pick you up and take you to the start line (a mile away) until 8:05am. If you arrive later than 8, you’ve missed your chance so please set your alarm accordingly (it is approximately 20 minutes from Fripp to the shuttle lot). Note that the buses will drop you back at the shuttle lot between 11am – 1pm. No ticket is needed for this option.

Saturday at Habersham

  • If you reserved a seat on one of our buses, we will pick you up at the Fripp Beach Club (300 Tarpon) at 7:00am and drop you off at Habersham (volunteers will direct you two blocks to the start line). Return buses will run from 11am-1pm. You’ll have a special tear-off on your bib that says SAT BUS and that will get you on our Fripp-Habersham and return buses. If bus tickets are still available, you can grab one here
  • If you would prefer to drive, there is plenty of parking “in the fields” where our volunteers will then direct you to the start line two blocks away. The best address to use for GPS is 100 North Market St, Beaufort SC.
Our posse of professional photographers will be capturing our festivities all weekend long. We are talking thousands of top notch, high resolution Kodak moments! These photos will be available online within a few weeks after the event. We’ll send everyone an email with a link and you can relive the magic forever.

It should go without saying, but in order to participate in the three walk/runs you must be a paid registrant and wear your designated race bib. All our bibs are customized with your name and personalized race details. Each race day has a designated bib and you must be wearing the appropriate bib in order to participate on that day. If you can’t make it to Thursday’s Packet Pickup Party, a friend can get it for you OR you can pick-up your packet and race bibs before each race at the start line.

We will be doing our big 50-50 raffle all weekend long and the winner will split the big pot with us when we draw the lucky person’s name on Sunday at noon. You can buy tickets all weekend long

We have designated short cuts for those of you not able to do the 10 miles each day. Please note: we do NOT have the manpower to pick you up whenever and wherever you feel like quitting (unless you require medical attention, of course). If you don’t think you can complete the course within 4 hours, please use the short cuts. And be aware that our volunteers have the authority to redirect you to shorter cuts along the way if you haven’t gotten to certain locations by certain times.

This year’s theme is Walking in a Winter Wonderland, so get creative with your hats & costumes or just wear whatever you’ve been training in. It is totally up to you.

We’re only on the beach at Fripp (Sunday) and, of course, it is high tide when we start. But the beach is wide enough so you’ll have plenty of packed sand to walk/run on. And the tide will be out a good bit by the time you return to the beach for the finish line approach. Phew!

We have plenty of pit stop stations along the route each day with water, sports drinks, snacks, and toilets. Feel free to bring your own water bottle and refill at these stations (or buy one of our PTP hydration packs for super cheap and you can throw it on your back and stuff essentials in the pockets.  Review the course maps so you are familiar with the distances in between stations: roughly every 2.5 to 3 miles.

If it is pouring rain, we walk. If it is snowing, we walk. If it is hot, we walk. If it is cold, we walk. If the sky is full of cicadas, we walk. We might have to delay a moment if there’s lightning in the area but bottom line y’all, the show goes on!

Please visit the Spartanburg Regional teal tent at Packet Pickup to receive a special Survivor Swag Bag. Your Thursday bib will have a “Survivor” tear strip to present to the teal tent.

A huge thank you to the National Breast Cancer Foundation for sponsoring our Survivor & Thriver Luncheon. Survivors / Thrivers are invited to join us on Thursday from 11:30 – 1:30pm at the Carolina Ballroom on Dataw. Please tell the gate guards that you’re going to the Pledge the Pink luncheon at the ballroom and they’ll direct you from there. Please note that the room is only large enough to have 230 people so this invite is only open to Survivors & Thrivers that are 2025 registrants.  To sign up, go to your Dashboard profile, let us know you are a survivor and that you want to attend.

Check Out Each Day!
