Guinness World Record 2026

We’re Taking Back What Is Ours!

We will be setting up our Flocks of Love flamboyance at Middleton Park in Oak Island on Monday, October 12. Please join us for the fun and festivities.

How we got here...

Back in 2016 I called the folks at Guinness World Record in Dublin to tell them we wanted to set a record for the world’s largest flock of plastic flamingos.

After they stopped laughing, they agreed it was a worthy goal and they developed rules and criteria so that our flock could be properly “adjudicated”.

We sold 1058 birds that year for $50 each to raise money for the cause. We were so stinkin proud on judgement day as we installed each little booger into the ground.

They had to touch “beak to butt” and be all lined up so that a surveyor could measure the continuous line of flamingos. Yes, that is how they judge this crazy thing!

A few months later the beautiful certificate came in the mail. We had done it! Now dubbed as “Flocks of Love”, we set the Guinness World Record for largest flock of garden flamingos!

Talk about a buzz. We were all so excited and full of ourselves.

For about a year.

And then there was Buffalo...

That’s when we got word that the City of Buffalo, NY decided to take our record with 1500 birds.

Aghast, outraged, and utterly defiant, we raised the bar in 2019 and started selling our little birdies for $100 to pay for the cost of a mammogram.

Our flock tripled in size to over 3753 and we were once again king of our domain.

But they came back with a vengeance and Buffalo stole our record for a second time with 4280 birds.

That was in 2022 and we’ve been holding a grudge and secretly laying in wait to reclaim our title.

And we’re going to do it this year, with your help.

Our fundraising goal is $1,000,000 which equates to TEN THOUSAND pink flamingos! Every bird represents a free mammogram for someone going through the scariest 10 minutes of their life.

We will be setting up our Flocks of Love flamboyance at Middleton Park in Oak Island on Monday, October 12. Please join us for the fun and festivities.

Help us reach our goal, save lives, and tell Buffalo to suck it, once and for all!
