Our 2026 Courses

OKI Has it all!

October 15-18, 2026

Our courses are breathtaking and designed for shenanigans!

Our courses are 99% flat but they are anything but boring! We suggest that you train on a variety of surfaces to help you prepare for the diversity of our routes (mostly roads and hard-packed sand).

Our courses are packed with essentials like water and Gatorade, and we’ve also got a lot of snacks out there for ya: trail mix, popcorn, orange slices, grapes, apples, bananas, ice pops, and energy balls. Our stations are set up approximately every 2.5ish miles.

We ask everyone to train to complete all 10 miles each day in less than 4 hours.

If you don’t think you can complete the 10 miles within that time frame, we respectfully ask you to do the 5-mile short cut. You’ll still be able to cross the finish line, claim your medal, and celebrate with your friends.

Friday's Course

Our first course is flat, fast, and fantastically gorgeous. Starting at the Elk’s Lodge with the survivors at the beginning of the line (our tradition), we’ll run/walk all the way down to OKI’s “point” and the very south end of the island. Stop by the beach for a quick drink and selfie, and then cross the finish line back at the Elks where the first party kicks off. After you’ve collected your posse, ride your golf cart back to Middleton Park for our official After Party and shenanigans galore! A cheeseburger never tasted so good.

Saturday's Course

Starting and finishing at Middleton Park, our survivors will lead us down to the beach for the first 4 miles of your journey on the hard-packed sands. We’ll pass by the historical pier and a few iconic juke jaunts before exiting the sands at the Oak Island Lighthouse. Climb it if you want, or continue the rest of your ten miles meandering through beautiful homes shaded with giant oak trees. We’ll be boogying down at the finish line waiting for you to join the party! You’ll smell the food trucks a mile away!

Sunday's Course

Our last course travels the western portion of Oak Island along the intercoastal waterway and over boardwalks that cross salt water creeks. We start at sunrise to capture our beautiful survivors waving their candles as they lead us for the last time. Grab your third medal at the Middleton Park finish line and hop right into the party that includes more delicious food and the OMG Shark Obstacle Course! Stick around and help us “cull the birds” as we pack up 10,000 plastic flamingos (which is a party in and of itself).
